I am a board-certified Senior Forensic Toxicologist at the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office in Fort Worth, TX with 11 years of experience in forensic toxicology. The first 5 years of my career were spent with the Brazoria County Sheriff’s Office, where I was cross trained in drug chemistry and toxicology. My next position was with the Houston Forensic Science Center as a Forensic Scientist-Toxicology, where I remained for 3 years before transferring to TCME in 2023. I have been a member of SAT since 2016 and am also a member of SOFT, AAFS, and SWAFS. Throughout my career I have participated in various committees within these organizations. I currently serve as the SWAFS scholarship chair and as a member of the SOFT Professional Mentoring Program committee. My participation in these committees gives me the opportunity to engage with students who aspire to become forensic scientists and foster outreach to younger professionals in our field. If I am elected as Councilor, I plan to use this experience to encourage meeting attendance, increase membership, and promote the various grants and awards that SAT offers.
